Question:
What immunizations will I need if I am over 65 years old?
Answer:
You will probably need a Tetanus booster and Varicella vaccine. You will also need the Pneumococcal and Influenza vaccines. If you are seeing a doctor on a regular basis, you may have had these vaccines. Please bring written proof at the time of your visit.
Question:
If I am pregnant, am I still required to have immunizations?
Answer:
If you are pregnant, you will not be able to have the MMR or Varicella vaccinations until after your delivery. You also wait to receive the Tetanus vaccine until after your delivery.
Question:
I am an adult and have no record of my childhood immunizations, what vaccinations are required for the INS examination in Orlando?
Answer:
Adults usually require the following immunizations:
Tetanus booster
MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella)
Varicella ( Chicken pox)
Question:
I am under 18 which immunizations will I need?
Answer:
Normally, the immunizations required for the USCIS examination are the same as those required by Central Florida schools. You should bring in any school immunization records at the time of your appointment.
Question:
I am currently breast-feeding. Can I safely receive the required vaccinations?
Answer:
If you are currently breast-feeding, you can not receive the MMR or Varicella vaccines. We will note on your application your intention to stop breast-feeding. Once your finally wean your baby, you will receive the required vaccines. You will be given a waiver at the time of your application.
Question:
How long does it take to complete my paperwork once I have my examination?
Answer:
Once your examination is completed, your blood work will be sent out for processing. Results are usually returned within 48 hours. If the PPD is normal after 48 – 72 hours and no chest x-ray is needed, your forms will be completed by the physician and returned to you in a sealed envelope to be forwarded to the USCIS.
